Q: Who is Dr. McNinja?

A: Dr. McNinja is a doctor who is also a ninja.

Q: That's a pretty kooky name, Dr. McNinja. How'd you come up with that?

A: Well, way back in 2003, it was originally just my Something Awful forums name, and it was really close to being Dr. McNuggets. (I had a bit of a thing for them back then. I also like claiming to be a doctor.) But last second before registering, I realized I could kick up the awesome a pretty decent amount by changing the"Nuggets" to "Ninja."

Q: How do you transition from internet name to internet comic?

A: Well, over at Something Awful, there are these uh... drawing fights, I guess is the best way to put it. You draw up a characterization of your user name and then you draw him/her

fighting the other people's characters! It's fun! And for one of these fights, I drew the gentleman pictured above, and voila, the good doctor was truly born. And if you'll look, I wasn't lying about him being a doctor, and a ninja. See the sword? See the degree? Proof. Anyway, shortly after that fight, I made this comic about him for a class.

Q: What kind of doctor is he anyway? That's a PhD on his wall. The sign in front of his office says he's a physician. In the one comic he's doing dental work on a patient, and then says he's a podiatrist!

A: Ninjas are mysterious in their ways. Way mysterious.

Q: Who draws this comic?

A: This guy. Chris Hastings.

Q: Who writes this comic?

A: This guy. Chris Hastings. In a Robin costume.

Q: Alright, I guess that's all there is to ask about who makes the comic, since it's all clearly just you.

A: Not so fast! Someone else inks it!

Q: Oh? Who does that?

A: This guy. Kent Archer. He used to be Chris's roommate, just like in Chasing Amy. He's pretty badass. And can you believe that's his real name? I can't.

Q: Excuse me but also I have noticed that in The Adventures of Dr. McNinja, Issue 9, titled Monster Mart, monochromatic tones are abandoned, and the full spectrum of color is introduced into the comic. Who is responsible for this?

A: For Monster Mart, and up to page 21 of Death Volley, the lovely and talented Carly Monardo was our colorist. She's still the cover artist for the books, and she does various other odds and ends, like designing King Radical and Hortense. She can be seen here with my "Batman and Robocop" art collection.

Q: Does the p-

A: The puppet is our letterer.

Q: But if Carly hasn't been coloring since page 21 of Death Volley... THAN WHO HAS?!?!

A: A G-G-GHOOOOST!

Q: AAAAAAH

A: No, it's dinosaur portrait specialist, Anthony Clark. You may also know him from his own comic, Nedroid. He is handsome.

Q: Ninjas are kind of played out, aren't they?

A: Doctors aren't.

Q: Well, unless you count ER, Grey's Anatomy, House, Dr. Phil, Scrubs, Dr. Who, Patch Adams...

A: The sad thing is I'm writing both the questions and the answers here.
